Dana is a native of Illinois, and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia for her undergraduate degree. She then came to Nebraska and graduated from Creighton University, obtaining her Juris Doctor degree. Dana has practiced law in Nebraska since 2005.
Dana clerked for a very active business law firm while at Creighton, then worked at that office for over five years. After gaining extensive knowledge and practice, Dana joined one of the leading consumer bankruptcy firms in Omaha. Dana gained extensive knowledge of both chapter 7 as well as the more complex area of chapter 13 bankruptcy. Dana also has the distinction of successfully appealing a decision in bankruptcy court to the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the 8th Circuit.
While many bankruptcy attorneys are knowledgeable of the basic rules and procedures of chapter 13, Dana’s extensive experience in the area gives our clients a distinct advantage in successfully completing a chapter 13 plan.
Dana is active in all aspects of the work done at Burke Smith Law. Drafting petitions, schedules and plans as well as responding to the various motions and objections made by different parties, Dana works with our bankruptcy clients to ensure that their case goes smoothly from filing to final discharge.
